Enjoy the freedom of clear, natural distance vision. Wake up, see your alarm clock and start your day with ease.

Enjoy sports, traveling, exercising and more without the barriers of glasses and contacts. Live the active lifestyle you deserve.

Resume all your daily activities quickly. Patients can work, wear makeup and exercise as soon as the next day.

Do the math - save money in the long run with a one-time ZEISS SMILE procedure. Contacts can cost over a $1.00 a day and glasses can run more than $300 a pair.

Soft contact lenses carry a higher long-term cumulative risk of corneal infection and vision loss compared with modern refractive surgery.1, 2
SMILE - short for small incision lenticule extraction - uses femtosecond laser technology to quickly and precisely correct your vision. Within 30 seconds the laser creates a small disc-shaped piece of tissue, called a lenticule, inside the cornea. Your surgeon will then remove the lenticule through a small opening, which allows for the cornea to reshape, correcting your prescription.
This minimally invasive procedure promotes faster healing and greater comfort after surgery. By preserving more corneal nerves, it also helps reduce post-operative dry eye symptoms.

The ZEISS SMILE procedure optimizes patient comfort by providing a fast treatment time with limited to no pressure on the eye. This is possible thanks to the laser's high speed and its curved design that allows for a more comfortable and precise treatment.
In fact, the majority of patients reported3*:

Due to the minimally invasive and flapless nature of the ZEISS SMILE procedure, only a very small opening is created on the surface of the eye. This tiny opening allows for faster healing and less post-operative discomfort following the procedure.
Most patients notice their vision stabilize within just a few days, and can return to work, drive, wear makeup, and resume physical activity as early as the next day. It's a safe and effective way to quickly get back to the activities that matter most to you.

In a patient survey, 160 patients were asked about their experience with ZEISS SMILE.3
With more than 12 million procedures performed worldwide, you can be confident in achieving clear vision.4

With over 12 million procedures performed worldwide, ZEISS SMILE offers an advancement in bladeless and flapless laser vision correction.4
No flap means zero risk of any LASIK flap-related complication. Fewer nerves are disrupted, meaning fewer reported post-operative dry eye symptoms.
Most ZEISS SMILE patients achieve 20/20 vision or better,5 allowing them to enjoy clear, glasses-free vision for everyday activities like driving, working, and sports.
Myopia (nearsightedness) with or without astigmatism.
The ZEISS VISUMAX femtosecond laser used in ZEISS SMILE is designed for unparalleled precision, ensuring predictable outcomes for each patient.6
Indications: The ZEISS VISUMAX Femtosecond Laser is indicated for use in small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) for the reduction or elimination of myopia with or without astigmatism: for spherical refractive error (in minus cylinder format) from -1.00 diopters through -10.00 diopters, for cylinder from -0.75 diopters through -3.00 diopters, when refraction spherical equivalent is no greater in magnitude than 10.00 diopters, in patients 22 years of age or older with documentation of stable manifest refraction over the past year as demonstrated by a change in sphere and cylinder of ≤ 0.50 D in magnitude.
Warning/Precautions: The ZEISS SMILE procedure for the correction of myopia and myopia with astigmatism is not indicated for patients with: a residual stromal bed less than 250 microns, abnormal corneal topography, signs of an unstable prescription, severe dry eye, active eye infection, recent herpes eye infection, active autoimmune conditions, uncontrolled diabetes and uncontrolled glaucoma. As with any surgical procedure, there are risks involved. These risks may include but are not limited to over-correction or under-correction, glare/halos/starbursts around lights at night or low-light conditions, debris in the corneal interface, variability in corneal healing, interface inflammation, and ocular infection. This may result in in loss of best corrected visual acuity or may cause visual symptoms.
Attention: As with any surgical procedure, there are risks involved. It's important to have a thorough consultation with your eye doctor to determine if ZEISS SMILE is the right option for you. Your doctor will evaluate your eye health, discuss the likelihood of these risks, and help you make an informed decision about the procedure.
